How to include a video...
...in your blog. Here is a short summary of how you can easily put a video in your blog.
If you have found a nice video, for example on youtube, then just do the following. Click on the video on youtube. On the right side, just below the name of the person who published the video you find the following items:

- URL
- Embed
All you have to do now is click on the text in the "Embed" field. The text changes its colour to blue, now make a right click and copy the text to your clipboard (i.e. "Zwischenablage" of your computer). Then go to your blog, make a new post and just paste the text from the "Embed" field into your post. Click on "Publish Post" and the video should appear in your blog. If you want to make changes to your post, then just use the "Edit Posts" function.

Book Reading
Here is a video found on youtube of a book reading held by Nick Hornby in London. Might be worth to check it out.
Lisa (aka lyy-lyy) also posted a nice interview of Nick Hornby on her blog site. Definitely worth a look since it includes quite a few interesting comments made by the author.http://lyy-lyy.blogspot.com/
By the way, don't forget that you can comment on your classmate's blogs!

How to edit your layout
If you want to adapt the layout to your own ideas you can customise it. For example, if you like to change the colour of your background then you click on the "edit layout" link on your dashboard, choose "fonts & colours" and pick your favourite colour. Also check out the help area on blogger.com.
If you like to be even more creative - there are plenty of websites offering you free templates and tips on how you can edit the html code of your blog. Just search on google for BLOGGER and TEMPLATES.

Disabled blogs
Unfortunately, some of your blogs have apparently been disabled for being alleged spam blogs. I know that none of them are spam blogs but it seems that blogger.com automatically scans the hosted blogs and classifies them accordingly. I could claim that this is my punishment for those people who have not yet eagerly started writing their blogs but believe me, it wasn't me. :-)
Just contact the blogger team so they can review your blog. Hopefully your site will be back soon. If that does not work, then please contact me.

Keeping track - How to keep a log
A reading log is a neat thing to have - even better if it is a webblog. The log helps you to write down all your ideas and impressions about the book and you can even design your log. Choose whatever colour you like, include pictures, videos, music, etc. All kind of stuff that you thing has some connection to the book.
You must have read the novel and finished your log until November 10th, 2008.
To get more information about what a reading log is, how you should keep it and what kind of things you should include in your log, read through the "How to keep a reading log" sheet that you got in class. If you have lost your sheet - shame on you :-) - then you can download the file here (on the right sidebar).
P.S. Do not forget to comment on at least one of your classmates' reading logs!

Time to blog
Now that you have successfully created your own blog, take your time to customize it to your own needs. You should learn how to post and comment in blogs. If you like you can also give your blog a unique, personal look. The more creative you get the better. You can find more useful information in the help section (http://help.blogger.com/).
Do not hesitate to ask your classmates - there must be some computer nerds ;-) - or your teacher if you need any help!
